Geophysical Fluid Dynamics

About the lab

Our climate is affected by turbulent oceanic flows where energy is being continuously transferred across a wide range of scales. Our group's research aims to improve our understanding of these processes. Our research resides at a synergetic overlap between geophysical fluid dynamics, physical oceanography and climate dynamics. We are particularly interested in ocean mesoscale and submesoscale dynamics, air-sea interactions and sea-ice interactions. To tackle these questions, we leverage the synergy of combining innovative data of different nature such as large numerical simulations, remote sensing observations and in situ data. As a group, we aim to build an open, diverse and stimulating environment in which junior scientists can mature and find their own path forward.
